Manteca is located in the Central Valley, 75 miles east of San Francisco between Highways 5 and 99. Many city-style amenities such as shopping malls and fine dining are available in Modesto, just 20 miles to the southeast. Originally an agricultural center, Manteca is now also home to many people who commute to jobs in the Bay Area. Local attractions include an annual Pumpkin Festival, the three-day Not Forgotten Memorial Day celebration, and nearby Dell Osso Farms, which conducts family-oriented events throughout the year. Manteca has a large senior center that hosts a number of social gatherings and support services.
