Oroville lies on the banks of the Feather River where it flows out of the Sierra Nevada foothills and enters the Central Valley. The town has a rich history as a gold mining hub, and later as the center of the olive canning industry. Local events include the Salmon Festival and the Feather Fiesta Days celebration.
